Certifications and compliance

If you sell food to the public, your supplier's paperwork becomes your paperwork. FFS Foods holds HACCP certification (MS 1480) awarded April 2006 and halal certification to MS 1500:2019, manufacturing under the Food Act 1983 and Food Regulations 1985 for Malaysian operators.

HACCP

MS 1480 · Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point

We began preparing our HACCP Management System in December 2005 and were awarded certification in April 2006. It has been maintained since.

HACCP is not a badge on a wall. It means the hazards in each process have been identified in advance, the points where they can be controlled are defined, and those points are monitored and recorded every time we run a batch, so a problem is caught at the line, not at your counter.

Halal

MS 1500:2019 · MHMS2020 · MPPHM2020

Our halal practice follows MS 1500:2019, the Malaysian standard for halal food production, preparation, handling and storage, together with the Malaysia Halal Management System (MHMS2020) and the halal certification procedure manual (MPPHM2020).

For most of our customers this is not optional, it decides whether they can trade at all in the sites they want. It is built into how the plant runs rather than added on top.

Regulation

The law we manufacture under

Certification sits on top of the statutory baseline. Both apply.

  • Food Act 1983 The governing statute for food safety and labelling in Malaysia
  • Food Regulations 1985 Composition, additives, contaminants, packaging and labelling requirements
  • Food Hygiene Regulations 2009 Premises, equipment, handler health and hygiene practice
What it means for you

Why this matters to an operator

Mall landlords, hypermarket buyers and food court operators increasingly ask to see supplier certification before they grant a tenancy. If your supplier cannot produce it, that is your problem to solve, usually at short notice.

The same applies to halal status. A single non-certified ingredient in an otherwise halal counter is enough to lose the certification the site depends on, which is why we would rather you sourced the whole line from one certified manufacturer than assembled it from three.

Current certificates are available on request for any customer who needs to submit them.
